She is the winner of ANTM (Cycle 15) - Ann Ward. Due to her dramatic height at 6 foot 2 inches, I started paying attention on this girl in this competition. Her abnormal height and special face looked fabulous in front of the camera and became the first-call-outs-girl for five consecutive rounds.Ann was always shy and quiet in the show. This character is mainly due to her unhappy memories in high school. Girls always made fun of her weird body and since then she became isolated in the teenage group. On the other hand, she was rejected by many modeling agencies by the reason of being too tall to be represented in the industry. Fortunately, Ann finally found a chance in the game of America’s Next Top Model.
During the “Lucha Vavoom” shoot with Brahka Squared, Ann thought she didn't do well in her photo-shot and burst into tears the moment Mr. Jay was commenting on her boring poses. I could tell that there was nothing but full of sadness and disappointing in her eyes. However, things goes the opposite and the judges love her photos and appreciated her amazing face expression. Unexpectedly, Ann won the challenge A-G-A-I-N!
During elimination, one of the judges, Karolina Kurkova said that "sometimes it feels like it’s our worst day, but sometimes it turns out to be our best photo shoot." I can't agree this statement any more. It seems we always unsatisfied about our performance, nevertheless, it doesn't mean that in the real case. We believed that we are the one who have thorough understanding about ourselves, but finally we notice our weakness and potential in others' words.
In my eyes, Ann Ward is really an exordinary nineteen-year-old girl. I am delighted to see that she used to be unhappy with her body, yet she is proud of it now. In fact, what Italian Vogue needs is an exotic model and that is ANN WARD.
